In the Works

Posted on 09 May 2014 by Jason Barry | Announcement

We’ve gotten tremendous feedback about the API product over the last few months. In an effort to continuously evolve our products to meet the demands of our customers, we have a few high priority items in development we wanted to share with you:

Paper Trading APIs

We plan on offering paper trading accounts with full API access and delayed data. We’re in the process of wiring up as many of the APIs as possible. Initially, we’ll be offering positions, balances, trading, and delayed market data. Some items might come a little later, such as gain/loss and activity.

These accounts will work just like production accounts — except with fake money. This item became a priority as it will make development MUCH easier for people doing complex integrations. Plus, it couldn’t hurt to have a nice API for delayed data.

Additional Market Data

A few months back we made a switch to a new data provider for performance and data breadth reasons. The performance gains have been phenomenal. Now we’re hoping to set our sights on some of the new data. Some data points we’re hoping to put some attention towards are: symbol lookup, more options data points, and publicly available streaming.

.NET SDK

This is one of the most asked for items. Many of our platform providers and developers use .NET to build mobile and desktop applications and this SDK should make it much easier to get that job done. We’re just wrapping up some testing on it and we’ll be making it available on Github shortly.

We’re really looking forward to putting these new features in the hands of our customers. As always, your feedback is very appreciated.
